Well, just like this blogger, I haven’t been getting much knitting done lately. I’ve been crocheting and working on school stuff because finals are next week. I had a huge project in my hidtory class due on monday, and I have two more projects and two more paper, plus in-class finals for three of my classes. And I started Driver’s Ed on monday. yikes!!!
I do, however, have the weekend after finals to look forward to – 3 1/2 days of no homework. Sadly, it is also the weekend of the super bowl, so I need to find myself something with which to occupy my time.
Well, if I didn’t know knitting was hot before, I defineatly do now.
I was just looking at Urban Outfitters for spring stuff, when I stumbled upon this. That book was featured here in Knitty!
And then, guess what I found? Debbie Stoller here and here. YEah!!!
Well, I guess whoever buys stuff either is and avid knitter, or doesn’t read Knitty!
Well, in my town, I’ve been getting SNOW! I didn’t have school today, I already know I won’t have it tommarow either. Yippee!
Today I reorganized my yarn stash…which is **gasp** getting smaller. Oh well. I’ll let it dwidle down to nothing, and then I’ll have to go find a yarn shop sale (and a job) to go build it up with non-acrilic fibers. Wool for felting! Cotton! Mohair! yummmm…
Today I have been crocheting granny squares. Yeah, I know. I’m working on a big white one that is going to become a (summer ish) baby blanket.
So, today I got Stitch ‘n Bitch Crochet from the library. I haven’t knitted all day.
But I love it cause it has the sassiness that only Stich ‘n Bitch seems to have.
Judging from the google search I just did, THERE ARE NO GOOD CROCHETING SITES OUT THERE!!!! Some I cound has air fresheners and TP COVERS!!!!! YUCK!!!
Maybe I’ll have to start one.
So last summer, I saw some yummy looking, extremely rich cupcakes in Sunset magazine.
They inspired me to use the knitted cupcake pattern in Leigh Radford’s One Skein.
So I did.
Just now, as I was reading this blog, I saw this link.
Yuuuummmmyyyyy cupcakes. If I lived near a bakery, I would so have to run out and buy cupcakes right now.
I know I could bake the cupcakes, but ……
One tablespoon of magarine has 2.5 garams of trans fats.
And, like everyone, I am trying to avoid trans fats.
So you can see that it’s really much more healthful to knit cupcakes.
Although they don’t taste as good.
Well, since all my other fave knit blogs (and non-knit blogs, as well,) have been posting the last couple days, I will be the first to post for 2007. Yay! 2006 went so fast for me, despite evil things like chemistry and starting physics…..but hey, I survived chem and I’m doing better in Physics.
On the Knitting front, I’m almost dome with Fairly Easy Fair Isle, out of stich ‘n bitch Nation. And I only started it on thursday, but I’m gonna have a new sweater to wear to school on wednesday! Yay! (and my first wool sweater, too. and no I don’t mean tuesday….I get it off so I can watch former President Fords Funeral. ha ha just kidding! they like to give the teachers a day with out students before we all come back……and it just happend that we get to watch Ford’s Funeral. But it should be interesting, as I’ve never seen a whole state funeral before.)
And seeing as my loooooong printeing job (for my Dad’s belated x-mas gift) is done, I think I’ll go back to the knittin’!
